Sir-Ace Ocean Lures are rare, classic, custom-made offshore trolling lures highly prized by vintage big game tackle collectors and tournament anglers. They were popular in the 1980s and 1990s and are widely known for their innovative, modular design that targeted pelagic species like tuna and white marlin.
Key Features of Sir-Ace Lures
  • Twist-Off Skirt System: Their defining innovation was a changeable head design. Anglers could quickly twist off a skirt to swap colors or replace damaged skirts without needing to re-rig the entire leader or fumble with hooks.
  • "Color Me Deadly" Motto: The company marketed these lures under the motto "Color Me Deadly," emphasizing the endless color configurations anglers could build on the fly.
  • The "007" Bullet Head: Among offshore tuna and marlin circles, the bullet-shaped "007" head is highly legendary. Anglers frequently ran them in a Green Machine style spread (often with black and red skirts) to trigger aggressive tuna and white marlin bites.
