Up for sale is an authentic, highly collectible piece of big-game offshore sportfishing history: a vintage Sevenstrand Standard Kona Head Trolling Lure in the iconic, tournament-proven Green Mackerel colorway.
Long out of production, original Sevenstrand big-game lures are fiercely sought after by seasoned canyon captains and vintage tackle collectors alike. Known for their elite hydrodynamics, these classic shapes raise fish when modern, mass-produced molds come up completely empty.
Design & Performance Profile:
- The Legendary Kona Slant: Features Sevenstrand's famous angle-cut forward taper. This design creates a beautiful, swimming action that darts erratically side-to-side, closely mimicking a wounded or fleeing baitfish.
- Green Mackerel Pattern: The head and double-skirt scheme are layered in a brilliant high-contrast green, black, and silver/gold mackerel scheme. This color profile is highly prized on the long-rigger or stinger spots because it perfectly "matches the hatch" for pelagic predators tracking smaller baitfish from below.
- Soft-Top Durability: Built using Sevenstrand’s specialized durable compound that eliminates the chipping, fracturing, and cracking common with cheap acrylic imports.
