The Fred Zeir Triple ZZZ Stinger Bullet is a legendary piece of northeast offshore trolling history, custom-built specifically to dominate the tuna grounds.
🐋 Design & Action Overview
- The "Stinger" Profile: Built exactly with a 3-inch long bullet-shaped head mimicking the classic Green Machine silhouette, this lure is engineered to track perfectly straight without swinging or tumbling, even at high trolling speeds.
- The Role: While it can be run anywhere in a trolling spread, its perfect hydrodynamic stability makes it the ultimate "Way-Back Stinger"—fished down the center line far behind the rest of the wake, where it triggers strikes from cautious, deep-swimming bigeye, bluefin, and yellowfin tuna.
- Collector Value: Because Fred Zeir's Triple ZZZ offshore resin heads were produced in far fewer numbers than his mainstream vintage wooden striper plugs, finding a clean stinger bullet with its original inserts intact is a rare prize for vintage saltwater tackle enthusiasts.
